The Syracuse International Film Festival Sophia Award is a Lifetime Achievement Award honoring individuals whose exceptional talent, body of work, and creative contributions have made a lasting impact on the world of entertainment and the arts.

Rooted in the Syracuse International Film Festival's tradition of celebrating independent cinema, the Sophia Award has grown to recognize outstanding achievement across the broader entertainment industry—including film, television, Broadway and theater, streaming, music, and other creative arts.

What Makes the Sophia Award Significant?

Recipients are artists and creative professionals whose work has inspired, entertained, challenged, and influenced audiences across generations.

The Sophia Award celebrates a lifetime of achievement and recognizes those who have left a meaningful and enduring mark on film, television, theater, Broadway, and the broader world of entertainment.
