BEST NARRATIVE FEATURE

Silent River
by Chris Chan Lee

On the road in a desperate attempt to reunite with his estranged wife, Elliot takes respite at a desert motel. He encounters Greta, a mysterious woman bearing a striking resemblance to his wife. Elliot soon discovers her secret and descends into a mind-bending journey that forces him to question exactly who she is and where they are.

Haunting and hallucinogenic, SILENT RIVER is a layered and nuanced film that boldly challenges the very notions of reality and illusion.

BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE

New York Minute
Directed by Lynn Bianchi

This work continues Lynn Bianchi’s relationship with New York City and its inhabitants – her home and inspiration since 1968. New York Minute was developed and created during lockdown – the year of loneliness and isolation – yet Lynn never felt lonely because the city was right outside her window – still alive and forever hopeful. A love letter to New York, this work is an abstraction of one day in the city – from dawn till dusk – moments that last a minute, or maybe a lifetime.
